Create Crossed-Out Text Anywhere

Strikethrough text (l̶i̶k̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶) adds a line through your words, indicating deleted or corrected content. Our Strikethrough Generator uses Unicode combining characters to create strikethrough text that works on any platform supporting Unicode.

How It Works

We add a special Unicode character (U+0336, Combining Long Stroke Overlay) after each character in your text. This creates a visual strikethrough effect without requiring special formatting support.

💡 Where It Works

Works on: Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit, YouTube comments, and most messaging apps. Doesn't work: Some older systems, certain fonts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why doesn't it look right sometimes?

Some fonts don't render combining characters well. The strikethrough may appear offset or incomplete depending on the viewer's device and font settings.

Can screen readers read strikethrough text?

Most screen readers will read the text normally, ignoring the combining characters. This is good for accessibility—the content remains readable.

Is there a character limit?

No limit from this tool, but remember that combining characters effectively double your character count. Watch out for platform limits like Twitter's 280 characters.
